Denim Tie Dye and Lime Green

Zydeco concert starts at 10 pm and here it is 10:37 pm and I must confess.  I didn't have a thing to wear, or so I thought!  I tried on jeans, shirts, skirts, shoes...and I still couldn't decide what I was going to wear.  So I started pulling things out of the closet and out of my drawers and two items caught my eye. A denim tie dye shirt that I purchased before Christmas and this lime green bandage skirt that I knew fit my petite frame perfectly.  So I placed them on the bed and was like...I might be on to something.  BUT, it could never be that easy...what shoes would I wear.  I looked through my millions of boxes and had an epiphany, I need more solid color shoes (but that's for a later post).  As I went through those shoes, I stumbled upon this pair of sexy purple stiletto's by ALDO...and it all blended perfectly.  I did not intend on making a blog post out of this but I couldn't resist sharing this outfit (i.e. the pics are very candid and personal)...my friends and I had an awesome time and snapped the night away...LOL.  Please feel free to comment, share, and follow for more confessions from Shopaholic718!

My girl, but why are her eyes closed...I really don't know, LOL!

I was working this skirt BABY!!

I enjoyed my night!!!!

Need money, look in your closet!

I have a few ideas that I am currently in the planning stages of and in sharing this information with my best friend she is bringing new ideas and ways to make these things happen.  One of these new ventures I just started today! I am now on POSHMARK.  If you are not aware of Poshmark (don't feel bad, I wasn't either), let me enlighten you! POSHMARK is an app for iPhone's.  Here's what the official description says:

This site basically lets you list items from your closet for sale on their website.  They send you a pre-paid mailing label and you package it up and send to the buyer.  They charge 20% of the listing price.  So if you sell an item for $20 you will be paid for $16 and $4 goes to POSHMARK.

I am now listed under the username EDELONE .  Go follow me and see what items I have for sale from my closet.  A lot of new items that I have never worn.  I will be listing items that I find in consignment stores for all you ladies that don't have the time or don't know how do thrifting.

If you download this app, put in promo code HUPHD during registration. We can both receive a $5 credit to use toward your purchases.

FYI:  I will be moving my site to wordpress real soon and the name will be changing to something new but I will make sure to do a post before I do that and a link directly to the new page.

Thanks for supporting me...now go download POSHMARK and don't forget the promo code HUPHD for the $5 credit.

Shopping on a Dime

I cannot begin to express my gratitude and astonishment to the overwhelming support that I received from the last blog entry.  Thank you so much!  I enjoyed writing it and although I didn't get any comments, or new followers, I did see the number of views increase tremendously.  So I know you are out there!  I encourage you not to just view, read, and leave.  Please comment, subscribe, and follow.  I want to hear from you, so I know what type of posts you are interested in and want to see more of.

Shopping on a dime, is a must for me.  All of my friends call me before they go shopping and ask, "Who has a sale?", "Where can I find this?", or the lazy ones (they shall remain nameless) call and say, "I am going ________, find me something to wear!".  LOL!!!!  I shop a wide variety of places but as of lately I have found a love for thrift store shopping.  I tried thrifting a few years ago, but I wasn't successful.  In order to have success when thrifting, first and foremost, you have to go with an open mind.  It's okay if something has to be altered to fit you (ex.  If its a size 12 and you are a size 8) or if you have to change the belt, or cut the sleeves.  You are not paying that much for it so the extra money to add to the item offsets.

I live in a very small town so unfortunately, I will not be revealing my treasured thrifting spots but I will show you what I recently SCORED (lame, I know) when thrifting at the local GOODWILL.  It doesn't matter where you reside there is a GOODWILL near you.  I frequented this GOODWILL numerous times and never found anything, but my last trip was very successful.  I purchased 5 items and my grand total was $10.  Yes $10.  Sometimes I feel like GOODWILL's can be a little pricey because dresses are $5.99, formals are $9.99, and so on but this particular day there was a sale.  Anything priced over $5.99 was $2.  GOODWILL not only has a website but there is a calendar that shows what days they will have sales.  Unfortunately, the calendar has not been updated for 2013 but it is still a handy tool.  For all of my Louisiana readers click here to go to the webpage to keep track of sales and plan your thrifting expeditions accordingly.

Ok, now to the awesome items I found.

First up is this beautiful, tulip draped dress.  This dress is totally amazing. THE COLOR.  THE DRAPING.  THE PLEATING.  THE BELT.  I love it.

Next is this sequin top.  When I saw it I was in LOVE.  I can't wait to pair with jeans and heels!  (SAD NEWS:  This was the top of a matching set.  I left the matching skirt and yesterday I came up with an awesome way to wear it! I hope it's still there when I return!)

I even found this RALPH LAUREN LINEN PANTS SUIT.  Although it is winter, I could not pass up this $2 suit.  FYI: I do not plan to wear together (I am not a suit type of chick) , BUT stay tuned for how I wear this suit as separates.  The suit is actually NAVY BLUE even though it appears black.

This dress I purchased to wear to work with flats and tights.  It it very basic but it fits really well and was only $2.

I know I said I purchased five items, but the last item was for a friend that lives in another state...LOL! True shoppers use all resources to score items they have been looking for...LOL!! I know but hey!!! We take this shopping thing serious. So I won't post her item but it is HOT!

...this is how I SHOP ON A DIME!!!!

Shopping For Free!!!!!

I know that it has been entirely too long since I last updated this blog.  But one of my goals for 2013 is to begin updating this blog regularly.  I am not promising that I will update daily but I am aiming for two to three times a week.  As 2013 approaches, I set a few goals for myself that I am really excited about.  In speaking with a very good friend today, she encouraged me to begin blogging again.  She told me that the world needed to know about me! And as I read that text, the blinders were lifted, the small town mentality came crumbling down, and I then realized that if she thought this about me, WHY DIDN'T I FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT MYSELF!  So world, HERE I AM!!! And YOU WILL KNOW ME.

Enough of all that sappy stuff,  AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT (LOL) !!!  My first comeback post is an outfit that I have been thinking about since Thanksgiving.  Since I don't go many places I have yet to actually wear it but I have been noticing similar ideas on a few websites.  Forever 21 has a version and so does LuLu's both pictured below.  I have these items in my closet, so i decided to go SHOPPING FOR FREE (lol).

Forever 21 Spiked Corset Dress, $29.80

LuLu's Stunning Studs Black and Beige Dress, $15 (Additional 40% off sale going on now brings the dress down to $9 !!!!!!!!!!!!)

So this is what I had in my closet, and again it was free...well almost I paid for it once, getting a second wear of it...LOL!

This black faux-leather bustier and peach chiffon maxi skirt are complete opposites but think paired together this will be an awesome outfit.  What do you think?

...nothing like a little Retail Therapy!!

...today was not a great day for me.  I had to deal with an unfortunate situation!!!! But after I was able to get everything off of my chest...I felt really, really good!! I went to my computer for a little RETAIL THERAPY and what did I find? A CRAZY SALE at Nine West. They have a sale that is an additional 30% off the sale prices.  On TOP of that, if you buy two pairs of shoes you get an additional 15% off, and if you buy 3 pairs of shoes they up it to 20% off...and to seal the deal off they have FREE SHIPPING!! OMG!! I went crazy!! I had to remove so many from my shopping bag because it was just too ridiculous.  I have an extremely small foot and for them to still have my size in stock at these fantabulous prices REALLY REALLY made my day.  Here are the pics from the website of the shoes I purchased...and maybe I will make my first YouTube video when they arrive!!!

One other pair that I ordered is no longer on the site, so those will definitely be in the haul video...I also ordered this purse that has been removed as well! I spent about $116 (including a pair of shoes for my mom) and got 6 pairs of shoes and a purse! WWWOOOWWWWW!!!!!!!
